When We Rise
A Poem About New Beginnings

Tomorrow when we rise, time will begin anew
As promises unfold, silent vows will bear our truths
Memories of battles fought shall fade, the echo of hope will weigh heavy,
Scars etched upon the soul run deep, yet our hearts beat strong and steady
As conviction absorbs the last lingering tear, we let faith replace our fatigue
When we rise filled with love and aspirations tomorrow on New Year's Eve.
May 2026 bring peace, joy, and laughter as well as the desires you hold in your hearts!
Sending lots of love into the Substack sphere while eagerly anticipating the creative energy that continues to unfurl in this space ❤️

I'm reading this late, but the new year is still new (and COLD) -- Good one!
Urgh, how did I miss this! This is perfect to start the new year. Perhaps I am late to this for a reason, I really needed to hear this today. My frustrations with myself have been at an all time high.
"Memories of battles fought shall fade,
the echo of hope will weigh heavy,"
I admitted a similar sentiment to my wife a few days ago. Something along the lines of, "I know looking back I will only remember the good parts, but right now its really hard." We were talking about parenting and work.
Thanks for writing this poem, the rhymes are not obvious, they are echoes of a comforting rhythm we all need.
